And then my Younique Journey Begins - November 2014:

I admit I am new to this whole MLM lark. It's now 3 weeks into my foray into direct sales as a US/U.k. Younique Presenter and Sponsor.

Probably like many of you, I've activelyavoided those contacts who were in direct sales, and trying to sell to me, or even worse yet, to recruit me...(Some of theother cosmetic companies were among the ones I had avoided the most...)

Is Younique too good to exist true?

• "The fastest growing direct sales company in history"?
• "Only ii years sometime and already a $300 one thousand thousand dollar company!"
• Fantastic, "naturally-based", affordable products?
• "A good for you bounty plan!"
• No pressure to sell, recruit or even purchase your own stock? All selling is done via "virtual parties" and marketed primarily through your social media channels.
• Get paid inside THREE HOURS of every sale!....Blah apathetic blah...

I listened to, and read information technology all, with interest and yet, a healthy dose ofcynicism mixed in too...Bluntly, it all sounded only a niggling bit "too good to be true" - well, to me anyway.

More than than a little dubious about Younique, I decided to research the company farther for myself.

• The night I heard nearly it, I hopped straight on to search my ain Linkedin network and typed in "Younique Presenter". I found a (swain) SF Bay Area woman, a 2nd degree connexion, who had been doing information technology, and I asked her lots of general questions. She was lovely and helpful and is now a connection! (In retrospect, I perhaps should have signed up under her, merely didn't know amend dorsum then! Sorry Robin!) :)
• I contacted a friend-of-a-friend, based in theScottish Highlands, who was already building her team. I listened silently equally sheraved about this new Younique "opportunity".
• I began watching hours of videos, webinars, tutorials and reading reviews near the products and the company (not all were proficient, some were downrightscathing!!)
• I looked at every bit many current presenters to see what they were doing and how they were doing it and asked,"could I do information technology amend or unlike?" (After all, I exercise have aslight advantage, my "solar day job" is as a social media trainer...)
• And then I joined up myself, choosing to sign upwardly under the woman in the Highlands on October 26. We had notwithstanding to launch in the UK until November 1st. And then that's when my story really began...

"What is your Goal?"

In all the Social Media training courses that I deliver, all across Scotland, I ask the delegates to consider their GOAL - for each aqueduct, and also their overall business goals also. I asked myself those same sorts of questions.

• Kickoff of all, I was looking for something I could sell on my website -Then You've Been Dumped (#SYBD) to monetize it. Cue: "Retail Therapy"! Younique seemed a proficient fit and their mission is to"uplift, validate and empower" women - and SYBD'due south is too (men as well though!). Ok, then that worked for me on a few levels as well. Plus I like the wholebreakup, makeup affair...
• The second desire was to grow a business where I can"earn money while I sleep" past working when/where/how I want - essentially on my own terms. I am quite prepared to do the hard work at present, in order to work toward that illusive residual income dream in a twelvemonth (or 3).

"How much volition it cost me to join Younique?" & "How much can I make?"

• Many things in life come down to coin - and this was no unlike. Initial outlay was, in my stance,very low: Britain £69, United States $99, Canada $119, Australia $129, New Zealand $139, Germany / French republic / Kingdom of spain / Ireland €107, Mexico $172 + shipping...So I figured, at that toll, fifty-fifty if Younique totally sucked, I'd non be out loads of money, then it was probably worth the take a chance. Thank goodness for me, non exactly a makeupfanatic I'll admit, I exercise love  all the Younique products!
• You can make a few pounds, to a few hundred to several thousand (dollars, pounds, euros etc)...or you can make nothing at all. Some people are making staggering amounts! Some end upwards with aught. Like anything in life, I suspect yous volition go out of information technology what you put into information technology, somewhen. I've already made my presenter kit coin back. That'southward a cracking get-go, I reckon! This is not a"become rich fast" sort of thing. I heard stories of one of the Blackness Status Presenters (height rung inYounique's status levels) who had recruited 200 total, in simply one year, and has a downline of 21,000. She'due south raking in tens of thousands off her squad each calendar month. I'd like a slice of that action.Wouldn't you lot?

As I studied the (somewhat confusing) bounty program, royalties, and the way Younique works, information technology actually changed my perspective. I'thousand in this 110% now, so fully committed, and thus I'm building, mentoring and training as much as I can.

18 Days...

• That's how long it took me to get my first recruit -a straight homo,  no less. (I'll be honest, was a littledisheartened that it took methat long)...
• Then, a solar day afterwards, my second recruit (a fabulous concern motorbus Sandra) joined my team. Hooray!
• A day later, three more committed. They said they'd sign upwardly by Tuesday (payday!) and did!
• So a calendar week later on, I had five in total. Was quite pleased with that for my first month!
• Remember Younique has merely been selling in the Great britain for three weeks at present. Information technology was a dull starter for me, but it'south starting to snowball now...

On one of the contempo webinars I watched, it said that information technology will be 20% of your squad who earn yous 80% of the money (or words to that issue). Nearly of my squad, thus far anyway, will be more than "hobbyists", I suspect. They volition but sell to family and friends, and non actively be selling Younique products, but I am fine with that. They'll aid my company too! I view my new "career" as less of aYounique Presenter/Sponsor (though I am that) but more every bit aYounique Social Media Autobus and Mentor. Less "selling" more than "empowering". Extolling the virtues of what I call "theart of non-selling".

No dear Younique presenters, despite what you may take heard, y'all do non have to promote your concern onFacebook or by hosting "virtual parties" if you practise non want to, OK? I've only always done 1 political party. And I've never "shared the opportunity" with anyone, and yet I've still managed to get recruits.

What appeals to me most about Younique is that the business organization is so flexible. I work as little - or equally much as I want - wherever/however I want. I can sell little or loads. No one will hound me to put my order in each month. No one volition society me to grow a team. That volition really appeal to others like me.

3 weeks in - "And so, how's it going and so far Thea?"

Honestly? Information technology's vivid. It's challenging. Information technology'southward exciting. It can be frustrating, sure, only getting paid while I sleep (it'due south happened a few times now) is a fantastic and addictive feeling. I'd beloved that to be an every day occurrence, someday.

When out networking, a few people have remarked that they've never seen me and so "upbeat and positive" (which actually stings a little, equally I idea I usually was upbeat and positive, simply apparently not! Ha!) That'southward the beauty of being passionate near what you practise.

So what are my biggest Younique challenges?

Misconceptions really. People who were like me - in that they have the stigma of selling or team-edifice, MLMs and straight sales in full general.

Things I've heard quite often the past three weeks:

• "I'g no expert at selling" (I say, "good, I wouldn't desire you lot if you were a sales person" - followed with "the products will sell themselves"...)
• "I don't want to recruit, I'll just sell to my family and friends". That's likewise good. Practise whatyou want! It'south YOUR business concern! You may even change your mind later on, similar I did!
• "Isn't Younique only a horrible Pyramid Scheme?"

Younique 3-Week Summary...

So that's where I've got to and then far. Three weeks in, I've made my initial outlay back, I've officially qualified as White Status and by "Blackness Friday", I'll exist Yellow, damn it (That'south actually a bold claim).

Heck, I may even shoot for Pinkish status - which would be awesome, just a footling like the online equivalent of trying to calibration Mt Everest in just a few days...on crutches.

In Conclusion...

Younique is a challenge, simply information technology'south actually fun and if you're lucky, sometimes you even get to run across Younique "Rock Stars" - like Shari Brown (She's on the right and a Mascara Millionaire!)
